The other is famed Hollywood animal trainer, Frank Inn. He was born Elias Franklin Freeman on May 8, 1916, in Mooresville. He left his Quaker background as a teenager and ended up producing Hollywood pet stars that are household names. These include Benji, the pig in "Green Acres," Higgins in "Petticoat Junction" and Leo, Jackie Cooper's dog in the 1950s show, "The People's Choice."

Inn was the first inductee into the International Association of Canine Professionals. He died July 27, 2002.
