Quaker Social Action/Poverty///FINANCIAL ADVICE PROJECTS SCOOP AWARDS/Community Newswire/London/England/UK/16-Dec-05//…Two pioneering charity projects in London were today named amongst the winners of a major new £200,000 innovation fund which aims to help boost financial advice for disadvantaged sectors of the community.

The newly created Financial Services Authority's (FSA) Innovation Fund has selected 12 not-for-profit and community projects from more than 350 applications which proposed new and innovative ways to tackle financial capability issues that could help people take control of their money.

Each of the winning groups will receive grants ranging from £6,000 to £35,000 to fund the projects until 2007.

In east London, Quaker Social Action has won a grant for a project which aims to better understand the spending pressures and priorities facing low income families and children. ….
