War/Humanitarian Assistance/Yorba Linda Friends Church/Guard troops head to Iraq/Orange County Register/Huntington Beach/CA/USA/6-Mar-07//She watched her husband Endhir, a 35-year-old Army Captain, nuzzle their 5-year-old son Emilio and push a stroller carrying their 2-month-old daughter Elianna – some of the last moments they would share as a family for more than a year.

Endhir prepared Sunday to leave for a year-long deployment to Iraq. He and his wife endured two prior overseas deployments and the upcoming separation would be no less painful, they said.

"I knew eventually he'd be deployed again, but not so soon," said Elizabeth Esteban, 34, a Northridge resident.
Family members, who flew and drove in from all parts of the state, enjoyed time together and ate lunch under a hangar. Members of the Girl Scout Council of Orange County, which donated hundreds of boxes of cookies, also attended. In addition, the Yorba Linda Friends Church prepared hundreds of care packages for soldiers. ...
