The inn building is part of a historic Quaker community that was mostly destroyed in the 1950s to make way for the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Routes 106 and 107. Located on a small preserve of open space, its attic once provided a resting place for slaves fleeing to freedom along the Underground Railroad.
